What is the EONIA interest rate?
Eonia (Euro OverNight Index Average) was the average interest rate at which a selection of European banks lent one another funds denominated in euros whereby the loans had a maturity of 1 day. Eonia could thereby be viewed as the overnight Euribor rate.
Eonia has been replaced by ESTER. That is why no new Eonia interest rates have been published since the end of 2021.
