What is the Overnight GBP LIBOR interest rate?
The Overnight GBP LIBOR interest rate was the average interest rate at which a selection of banks in London were prepared to lend to one another in British pound sterling with a maturity of Overnight. Although some LIBOR rates are still published daily, most LIBOR rates no longer exists. That is also the case for the Overnight GBP LIBOR rate.
In recent years, various alternatives to the LIBOR rates have been introduced. For example SOFR (US Dollar), TONAR (Japanese yen), SONIA (British pound sterling), SARON (Swiss franc) and ESTER (Euro).
